            The Day of Judgement has many different names they include:

  •      “The Day of the Lord”

  •      “The Day of the Lord’s Judgment”

  •      “The Day of the Lord’s anger” (Lam 2:22; Zeph 2:2–3)

  •    “The Day of the Lord’s wrath” (Zeph 1:18)

  •    “The great and terrible Day of the Lord” (Mal 4:5)

            The Old Testament prophet, Zephaniah, paints a vivid picture of what the Day of Judgement will look like.

14  The great day of the Lord is near,

near and hastening fast;

the sound of the day of the Lord is bitter;

the mighty man cries aloud there.

15  A day of wrath is that day,

a day of distress and anguish,

a day of ruin and devastation,

a day of darkness and gloom,

a day of clouds and thick darkness,

16  a day of trumpet blast and battle cry

against the fortified cities

and against the lofty battlements.[1]

Did you notice the terms use to describe the day, God is bitter, wrath, distress, anguish, devastation, darkness, gloom, war? From this description, we can see this day will be unlike any other in the history of humankind.

In the New Testament, Jesus said, “But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgement for the land of Sodom than for you”, Matthew 11:24, ESV. We have all read in the Old Testament how God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sin and evil in those cities. Now, imagine God holding back His judgement on our cities in this day. It is only because of Jesus Christ that God’s wrath is not unleashed on us right now. Thing is the days of grace are running out. The time for preparation is now do not let time run out for you and the ones you love.

 If you would like to give you life over to Jesus or renew your commitment with Him, please message me or send me an email, I would be honored to help you.
